Interested in checking into the hotel and having your portrait taken? Here are some FAQ

Q: Where is this hotel?

A: It’s a concept. A theme if you will. If it really existed I’d be too busy bell-hopping to take your photo. I’m based in London, England but travel a lot. So far I’ve done BearHotel shoots in Amsterdam, Auckland, Berlin, Birmingham, Brighton, Leeds, London, Manchester, Margate and Tel Aviv. The international jet set glamour of it all

Q: Will I get paid for my modelling?

A: Only with my undying gratitude. You will get digital copies of the best photos as reward for your time though


Q: Will you take some shots just for me?

A: Sure, more than happy to take some pics for you once we’ve got the BearHotel ones out of the way. I’m not easily shocked so if you want knitwear fetish pix we can do that.


Q: Will we have sex?

A: This is all about making art not love, baby, so it’s unlikely unless we’ve previously agreed it. This isn’t all some ploy to get you naked in a hotel room. Oh no, wait.. it is!

Q: Where will the shoot be?

A: I usually hire a Central London hotel but I’m flexible and I travel a lot. If you have your own hotel room right now… well, you go to the head of the queue!


Q: Do I have to be nude?

A: Absolutely not. It’s totally up to you. Underwear is fine or we can do implied nude (you know, like in ‘Calender Girls’ the carefully placed iced buns can be deployed)


Q: Do I have to show my face?

A: Absolutely yes. You’re handsome as fuck


Q: How long does a photoshoot take?

A: About an hour should do it (but I usually schedule slots a bit longer so we have plenty of time)

Q: I’m not the model type, are you sure you want to take photos of me?

A: I want a variety of guys… big, small, fat, thin, hairy, smooth, skinny, muscley, older, younger, trans, cis, and all races, creeds and colours. BearHotel is all about body positivity and celebrating diversity. You don’t even have to have a beard. Just don’t be average (and be over 18)

Q: Will they be black ’n’ white or colour photos?

A: So the bearhotel thing is a selection of monochrome and full colour shots

Q: Can you photoshop away my acne/blemishes/swastika tattoo?

A: Yes, I’m a wiz

Q: What’s with the bathrobe?

A: I want each guy’s sets to be as different as possible and reflect the personality of the sitter but that aside there are similarities in the shoots… at least one shot in the bath-gown, one in a towel, one on the bed and one in the bathroom. If you’re allergic to terry towelling you have been warned


Q: Can I use the photos for my Grindr profile/next year’s Christmas card/my OnlyFan’s account?

A: Sure. Credit me or put a link back to the bearhotel.net and we’re all good

Q: Where will you use the photos?

A: Well right now they’re on the main site, instagram & twitter but it’d be great to have an exhibition or a book in the future. You’re a book publisher? Why didn’t you say before??

Q: What if I don’t like the photos?

A: Then they don’t get shown. I’m a respectful collaborative photographer so I want us both to be happy with the photos before anyone see them
